Choose your precision CNC model

Digital Wood Carver offers two mid-size routers built on the same precision platform, sized for different project needs.

DWC2636 HD

Precision Mid-Size CNC

  • 26" × 36" cutting area with 7" Z-axis clearance

  • The official "HD" model designed for detailed carving and controlled production

  • Strong fit for small shops and serious makers

DWC2636
from $6,699.00

Meet the Digital Wood Carver DWC2636, a precision CNC router built to handle demanding projects with exceptional control and reliability.

Whether you're carving detailed artwork or cutting furniture parts, the DWC2636 delivers pro-level performance without the learning curve.

It’s a powerful, production-ready machine for small shops, business owners, and serious makers.

DWC3648 HD

Larger-Format Heavy-Duty CNC

  • 36" × 48" cutting area with 8" Z-axis travel

  • Features high-torque motors and planetary gearboxes for demanding work

  • Ideal for shops stepping up in size without going industrial

DWC3648
from $8,999.00

The DWC3648 is Digital Wood Carver's most capable mid-size CNC. A 36" x 48" cutting area, a 3 HP liquid-cooled spindle, ball screw drive on all three axes, and closed-loop motors that don't miss steps. It's built for people running longer jobs, larger material, and tighter tolerances.

The Automatic Tool Changer levels up the DWC3648 further. Instead of stopping your program to swap bits by hand, the ATC does it for you. Up to five bits loaded in a carousel, switching automatically mid-program while your machine keeps cutting. For anyone running multi-pass projects — roughing, detailing, V-carving — that's real time back in your day.

Together, the DWC3648 and ATC are a production-capable setup at a price that doesn't require the expense traditionally needed for a commercial CNC budget.

  • Serious makers, sign makers, and small businesses that require precision and repeatability for professional work without the footprint of a full industrial machine.

  • Yes. Because they utilize ball screw drives on all three axes and closed-loop motors, they maintain consistent accuracy across repeated jobs.

  • While optimized for all wood species, these machines effectively process plastics, composites, and non-ferrous metals like aluminum, as well as etching on glass and marble.

  • Both models require 220V single-phase power. We recommend a 20-amp circuit and will confirm your setup with you before ordering.

FAQ

I’m Burl!

Hi, I’m Burl! I know that picking a CNC isn’t easy, and that’s why I started Digital Wood Carver.

After nearly 28 years in design engineering, I started Digital Wood Carver in 2012. Today, our team builds and supports CNC machines from our shop in Martinsville, Indiana.

Our goal is simple: Build high-quality CNCs and back them with real, personal support—so you enjoy using your machine and keep moving forward.
